Heerlyckheyt Roonen Bergh stretches across the flanks of the Rodeberg with its typical soil of iron sandstone and loam. Sandstone retains heat, which promotes the ripening of the grapes. The loam is fertile, easy to work, moisture-retentive, and permeable to roots. The slope ensures good drainage, and the surrounding forest creates a perfect microclimate. This unique soil and specific location constitute the exquisite terroir for the vineyard. Primum 2022 Following the successful launch of the Primum 2021, Simon Riquiere bottled the second vintage of this still white wine in June. The Primum 2022 is the result of the second harvest of the Chardonnay, Auxerrois, and Pinot Blanc vines that Simon Riquiere and Joke Lemenu planted on the flanks of the Rodeberg in 2020. This one won a silver medal at the Best Belgian Wines 2023 competition. Sauvignon Blanc With its Sauvignon Blanc, Roonen Bergh has an absolute first, as it is the very first Heuvelland Sauvignon Blanc. This typical Loire grape requires quite a lot of sun to ripen well. That is why this grape variety is not often grown in our region. This harvest comes from a test plot and delivers top quality. FACILITIES: Guided tour Educational tour of the winery and facilities Tasting room for 80 people Opportunity to purchase wine Car and bus parking Accessible to people with disabilities Toilets Tours available in French and English Plantation: 12,500 vines Grape varieties: Chardonnay, Auxerrois, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, and Pinot Meunier Wine selection: Still white wine Primum 2022, white wine Sauvignon Blanc ADDITIONAL HIGHLIGHTS: The longest table: 'Get ready,' as they say in West Flemish. Michel & Kris run this small-scale family wine business. The vineyard covers just under three hectares, where 11,500 vines are planted across four different plots. The first and oldest vines are Chardonnay and Pinot Noir; Auxerrois and Dunkelfelder were added only in 2017. Choosing these grape varieties is not the easiest path, but it is the greatest asset for producing quality wine. We work sustainably and with respect for nature. The soil is tilled mechanically. We let nature do its work as best as possible. The vines require a great deal of attention and care all year round. The grapes are hand-picked only when the time and the grapes are ripe... Michel follows his intuition and makes all the winemaking decisions himself. This is how you get a unique product that cannot be anything other than high quality due to all the passion that goes into it. Facilities Guided visit to the vineyard, educational visit to the winery and facilities, tasting room (< 40 people), possibility to purchase wine, car & bus parking, toilets, accessible to people with disabilities, guided visit in other languages (French).

Wijngoed Kapelle is a Belgian vineyard located in the West Flemish village of Schuiferskapelle, near Tielt. We planted our first vines in 2011. In April 2018, the vineyard was expanded to 2 hectares. We started by making sparkling wine, after which our white and rosé wines came onto the market. The red wine is aged in oak. As a by-product, for several years now we have been producing Belgian port, our Armando, as well as Belgian red vermouth! By appointment, you can also visit our wine estate in a group, starting from 15 adults.

Welkom in Villa Les Zéphyrs.

For Freedom is een levend museum. After the planting of the test vineyards, Peter Vandamme was able to get to work in the Heuvelland PDO area in 2009. The plot of approximately 1 hectare is situated at the foot of the Rodeberg and has a steep slope. The soil consists partly of clay, loam, and iron sandstone, ideal for viticulture. Fungus-resistant varieties were chosen: Regent, Cabernet Cortis, and recently also Souvignier Gris. At the 'Klein Rijselhoek' vineyard, a kestrel lives in a specially adapted nest box. Such a permanent resident protects the vines against rodents that target the trunks and roots. It also keeps overly greedy birds eager for the ripe grapes at a safe distance. All the above-mentioned measures make environmentally friendly and sustainable viticulture possible. Vineyard area: 1 ha Grape varieties: Regent, Cabernet Cortis, Muscaris, Souvignier Gris Wine range: Natural wines: Regent-Cabernet (red), white Seyval, Solaris Facilities Guided vineyard visit, educational visit to the winery and facilities, tasting room (<20 people), possibility to purchase wine, car and bus parking, toilets, accessible to people with disabilities, guided visits available in other languages (French, English, and German).

The church of Waha is one of the most stunning discoveries I made in the region of Marche-en-Famenne.

The watermill in Tielen has a rich history dating back to 1526. According to old laws, rulers were allowed to lend the power of flowing water and wind to the local lord, who obliged farmers to have their grain milled there. This meant that the miller, in the service of the lord, received taxes in kind from the farmers for every milling session. Due to the limited drop in elevation of the rivers in the Kempen region, the wheel of this watermill is driven by an undershot mill, where the water drives the wheel from below. The mill was passed down from generation to generation for centuries. In 1918, the mill was purchased by miller Fik Dionys, who maintained it until after the Second World War, when agriculture changed and the miller's trade became unprofitable. After the death of the last miller, Louis Dionys, in 1981, the mill was sold and lovingly restored. The mill house, which dates from 1681, still features the characteristic basket arch above the door.
