Cookies and Apple Strudel Cooking Class Including Lunch

During this class, you will be guided by your experienced chef. Each class will have a maximum of 15 people, and will be broken down further into tables of 2 to 4 people. Start the cooking lesson by preparing your own original Austrian apple strudel. You will be asked to fully partake in all the stages of the preparation. Activities such as marinating the apples and stretching out the pastry can be a lot of fun and the whole experience of making the strudel is guaranteed to be as rewarding as enjoying the final outcome itself. While the apple strudel is in the oven, every class member will be invited to make their own cookies. You will prepare vanilla kipferl, the most popular cookie in Salzburg. Enjoy a tasty goulash soup before you get your own cooked creations. The lessons are an unique lunch option after your morning tour or before your afternoon activities.

Original Sound of Music Tour

On this half-day tour you'll relive scenes from one of the most popular movies of all time. Visit the locations used during the filming of The Sound of Music in Salzburg and its surrounding countryside. During the tour, you’ll also hear songs from the original soundtrack. Let your guide show you the architectural and historical landmarks of the city and the picturesque Lake District. See Leopoldskron Palace, a place whose exterior was used as the Trapp family home and where the children were seen boating on the lake and jumping into the water. Maria was a novice at Nonnberg Abbey, the oldest convent in German-speaking Europe, and your next stop. The St. Gilgen and Lake Wolfgang scenes shown at the beginning of the movie were actually filmed at Lake Fuschl, on the way to St. Gilgen, which you'll also see today. The wedding scene was filmed at Mondsee Cathedral, a buttery yellow-and-white edifice where you'll stop on the tour. Maria, led by Liesl, walked down the aisle to meet the baron in front of the stairs of the main altar. After dropping you off in Salzburg at the end of the tour you can visit Mirabell Gardens, located just opposite the tour terminal. Maria and the children were seen dancing through the Gardens singing Do-Re-Mi.

Folklore Museum

For many years now, the grounds of Hellbrunn Palace have been home to the Salzburg Museum's folklore collection, which provides a comprehensive insight into Salzburg's folk culture. One of the highlights of the folklore museum is the presentation of the most beautiful traditional costumes typical for the counties in the Province of Salzburg. During the summer months there is also an special exhibition which changes annually.

Designed to bring together arts, aviation and the culinary arts, the venue hosts the Michelin-starred restaurant Ikarus, two bars and a lounge alongside a collection of historical airplanes, helicopters, Formula One racing cars, and more in rotating exhibitions. Hangar-7 was initially developed by Red Bull founder Dietrich Mateschitz who was looking for more space for the Flying Bulls, a private aircraft collection and performance aviation fleet associated with Red Bull.
