Crafoordska stiftelsen (The Crafoord Foundation) is one of southern Sweden's most important scientific foundations, founded in 1980 by Holger and Anna-Greta Crafoord. The foundation has granted SEK 2.5 billion in total research funding since inception, awarding SEK 147.5 million across 371 grants in 2025 alone. It funds research at Lund University, Malmö University, Linnaeus University, Kristianstad University, Halmstad University, Blekinge Institute of Technology, and SLU Alnarp — making it a critical capital source behind much of the research that eventually spins out into Skåne startups. Also partners with the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences on the Crafoord Prize (SEK 6M), one of the world's most prestigious science awards.
