The European Spallation Source (ESS) is a multi-disciplinary research facility under construction in Lund, set to become the world’s most powerful neutron source. ESS will enable scientists to study materials in unprecedented detail, supporting breakthroughs across energy, health, manufacturing, and materials science. A flagship EU collaboration involving 13 member countries, ESS is a cornerstone of Lund’s international science district — Science Village Scandinavia.
