MAX IV Laboratory is Sweden’s national synchrotron radiation facility and the world’s first 4th-generation light source. Operational since 2016, it delivers high-intensity X-rays used to study atomic and molecular structures, driving innovation in materials science, nanotechnology, chemistry, and medicine. With 16 beamlines in operation and more planned, MAX IV is a cornerstone of Science Village Scandinavia, collaborating closely with Lund University and ESS.
