TU Delft is a leading research institution and university heavily involved in advanced robotic 3D printing research and applications across multiple specialized labs. The Center of Design for Advanced Manufacturing (CDAM) utilizes a UR3 robotic arm for multi-axis FDM 3D printing, enabling support-free plastic fabrication. Additionally, the Robotic Building Lab, focused on developing Design-to-Robotic-Production and -Operation (D2RP&O) methods, applies robotic fabrication techniques to diverse materials, including clay, silicon, recyclable plastic, and concrete, for complex architectural structures. This lab is equipped with industrial robots, such as a 6-axis KUKA robot, to explore various subtractive and additive end effectors. Through these facilities, TU Delft is actively pushing the boundaries of robotic construction and manufacturing for the built environment.
