Visit the Sthree Café in Kandy for a lunch. It is a social enterprise run by women who are either differently abled or come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. The café gives them a chance to earn a meaningful income. In addition to the meal, there is a small on-site workshop where guests can see the women crafting handmade products, which are sold in the adjoining shop. If guests are interested in joining in and making the products, it can be done for a fee, to cover the cost of raw materials.
