Lublin Castle is a historic fortress located near the old town and it has played an important role in the history of eastern Poland. The complex includes a medieval tower a royal chapel with unique frescoes and later prison buildings that reflect different periods of use. Today the castle serves as a museum and it shows the cultural political and artistic heritage of the region.
