Two brothers built this burger joint by flashlight after their day jobs in 1947, and seventy-seven years later, the secret-sauce burgers still pack the tables on Johnston Street. Alcide and Marc Judice returned from WWII, constructed the original building themselves with family help, and opened on a shoestring budget with their wives Pearl and Gladys. The burgers remain the draw—thick patties with that closely guarded sauce recipe that's outlasted generations.
