Since 1983, this Cranford deli has built its reputation on towering Sloppy Joes—double-decker sandwiches piled with meat, Swiss, coleslaw, and house Russian dressing on rye. John Taggart ran the shop for 25 years before passing it to Angelo Lomonte in 2019, a retired police lieutenant who kept the formula intact. The breakfast wraps and Taylor ham sandwiches draw a daily crowd of regulars who've been coming back for decades.
