Since April 1945, this Old Village soul food institution has served fried pork chops, okra soup, and hand-formed burgers from the same Royall Avenue storefront where founder Raleigh "Pat" Johnson Sr. once ran a barbershop on one side and an ice cream counter on the other. Now run by son Raleigh Jr., the cash-only diner still cooks from timeless family recipes—red rice, fried chicken, whole wings—that draw regulars back for decades.
