The original Mai Tai was born at Trader Vic's, and this subterranean tiki palace in the Hilton Atlanta has kept the rum flowing and the Chinese wood-fired ovens burning since 1976. Hand-carved tikis and palm-thatched ceilings set the scene for Polynesian-inspired plates and potent tropical cocktails mixed to founder Victor Bergeron's exacting specs. One of the last outposts of the once-mighty tiki empire, it remains a time capsule of mid-century escapism in the heart of downtown.
