Ted's Hot Dogs • 1927

Theodore Spiro Liaros began selling hot dogs from a horse-drawn cart near the Peace Bridge in 1927, launching what would become a Western New York legend. Ted's charcoal-grills every hot dog over an open flame, a technique that sets them apart in a region obsessed with regional hot dog styles. The foot-long dogs arrive with snappy casings, topped with Ted's proprietary hot sauce and served alongside hand-cut onion rings and ice-cold Loganberry, a local soft drink essential to the full Ted's ritual.
