The Stella Hamburger—a local legend since 1936—was born in a three-room house where Estelle Sullivan converted one room into Bellevue's first tavern. Widowed with four children to raise, Stella built a family empire on her signature burger, served first at the corner of Betz Road and Lloyd Street and now carried forward by generations who refuse to mess with the recipe. The same hand-packed patties that fed airmen from nearby Offutt Air Force Base still draw crowds willing to wait for a taste of Nebraska history.
