A fried fish cake smooshed atop a split hot sausage in a single roll, topped with tangy pepper hash—this is the Philly combo, a near-extinct old-school street food that survives at this Fishtown stand-up joint. Owner John Danze keeps the tradition alive seven decades after opening, serving about 30 combos a day alongside his famous hot sausage, egg, and cheese sandwiches to cops, contractors, and anyone willing to line up at dawn and eat standing at the outdoor counter.
