Bob Kinkel started flipping coin-sized, onion-laden sliders at this six-stool Salina institution in 1922, borrowing the concept from White Castle and selling them for a nickel apiece. The menu remains defiantly simple—no cheese, no fries, just sliders on waxed paper and canned soda. Step inside the tiny space on North 7th Street and the aroma of griddled onions still clings to everything, just as it has for over a century.
