Salvatore Riggio's Sicilian slice shop across from Madison Square Garden earned the only perfect score from Slice Harvester after the blogger reviewed over 360 Manhattan pizzerias. For its first 24 years starting in 1964, Riggio refused to sell anything but plain cheese slices—customers who wanted toppings had to buy an entire pie. Today the family-run shop still turns out thin-crust New York pizza with restrained mozzarella and a heavy hand with the pecorino.
