Daniel Webster once kept a personal booth at the oyster bar, shucking his way through plate after plate of briny bivalves with a tumbler of brandy and water. Operating from the same brick building since 1826, this National Historic Landmark stands as America's oldest continuously running restaurant, where JFK favored booth 18 and the mahogany semicircular bar still serves oysters on the half shell exactly as it did nearly two centuries ago.
