Hollywood royalty and neighborhood regulars have crowded the booths at Nate'n Al's since 1945, when Nate Rimer and Al Mendelson opened their Beverly Hills delicatessen on North Beverly Drive. The pastrami is hand-cut, the matzo ball soup simmers daily, and the corned beef on rye comes piled high in the tradition of the great Jewish delis. Now owned by longtime patrons Shelli and Irving Azoff, the deli still draws a faithful crowd for breakfast scrambles, towering sandwiches, and the kind of old-school counter service that feels like coming home.
