David's Delicatessen & Diner is San Francisco's oldest Jewish delicatessen, founded by Holocaust survivor David Apfelbaum in 1952 in the city's theater district. Known as the last horseshoe counter diner on the West Coast, it serves classic deli fare including hot pastrami, corned beef, matzo ball soup, and bagels with lox in a nostalgic 1950s atmosphere.
