Ben Fowler, a former Navy fighter pilot turned rancher, opened this old-fashioned drive-in in Roy with his wife Rita in 1956, back when fast food was barely a concept. Three generations later, the family still serves hand-cut fries and thick shakes alongside the legendary Big Ben burger and a rotating lineup of exotic meats — alligator, elk, and kangaroo — that earned a spot on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.
