Krug's Tavern • 1932

The burger at this fourth-generation Ironbound tavern has drawn Newark locals through the same door since Frank and Laura Krug opened in 1932. Now run by the LaMotta family, the narrow dive bar still serves those celebrated patties alongside homemade marinara sauce in a no-frills setting unchanged by nearly a century of operation. The jukebox hums, the bar stools fill, and the griddle never stops.
