When brothers Al and Joe Scoma bought a six-stool coffee shop on Pier 47 in 1965, they brought their mother's recipes and a vision that turned into a three-generation family empire. Fishing boats still unload their catch at Scoma's own receiving station steps from the kitchen, supplying the Lazy Man's Cioppino and whole roasted Dungeness crab that have made this Fisherman's Wharf landmark synonymous with San Francisco seafood. The clam chowder alone has drawn crowds for nearly six decades.
