Andy Harris and Glen Teter built this Austin drive-thru with their own hands in 1945, naming it for Harris's daughter Sandy before opening in May 1946. Nearly 80 years later, flat-top burgers and hand-cut fries still slide through the same vintage window on Barton Springs Road. The charm is in the simplicity: no frills, no pretense, just a thin patty seared crisp and served fast the way drive-thrus were meant to be.
