Retranchement is a small village in the municipality of Sluis in the Netherlands. It is known for its historic fortifications which were built as part of the Staats Spaanse Linies. The village has quiet streets green surroundings and paths that follow the old defensive earthworks. Retranchement lies close to the dunes and the wide beaches near Cadzand which gives it a calm coastal atmosphere with easy access to nature and walking routes.
