Žaliakalnis Funicular in Kaunas is one of the oldest working funiculars in Lithuania and offers a short historic ride between the city center and the Žaliakalnis district. The wooden cars move slowly up the hillside and give passengers a view of the surrounding streets and green slopes. The station buildings keep their original early twentieth century character with vintage details that reflect the period of construction. At the top visitors reach the area near the Kaunas Christ’s Resurrection Basilica which provides wide city views.
