Meridianas is a historic sailing ship in the center of Klaipėda and one of the city’s most recognizable symbols. The tall white masts and wooden deck stand on the Danė River near the Old Town which makes the ship a popular spot for photos and walks along the waterfront. Built in the mid twentieth century the vessel once served as a training ship for maritime students and now functions as a cultural landmark with a restaurant on board. Visitors can admire the rigging the classic shape and the scenic riverside setting that surrounds the ship. Meridianas represents Klaipėda’s strong maritime heritage and adds charm to the city’s waterfront.
