Activation projects led by Healthy Loddon Campaspe in Loddon Shire Council to create healthy spaces, places and practices that support an increase in physical activity and healthy eating. Place-based activation projects are designed based on community-level data and local stakeholder and community engagement.

In Loddon Shire, the project helped 4 clubs offer healthier food and drink choices at their canteens and kiosks by providing free canteen equipment, menu changes. Each club were referred to the Vic Kids Eat Well initiative for further support and resources.

Installation of outdoor fitness equipment at J Sloan Park.
Replacing current signage and installing additional signs to mark pod locations and distances along the Nardoo Trail, residents and visitors will be supported and encouraged to access the equipment and the walk.
The Boort community were assisted to develop an appropriate route that meets Parkrun’s criteria.
With support from the Pyramid Hill Progress Association, Loddon Shire, and Healthy Loddon Campaspe, the Pyramid Hill Golf trail parkrun was created as a fun and free way for people to get active close to home.
The Light Up the Night project aimed to improve access to recreation reserves in Wedderburn and Inglewood by installing lighting for evening use during winter. This made the spaces safer and more inviting, especially for walking and informal activity. Survey results showed increased use and a strong intention among participants to be more active ongoing.

The Aqua Aerobics Pilot introduced structured, low-cost fitness sessions in Pyramid Hill and Mitiamo, attracting older adults and providing both physical and social benefits. With over 100 attendances across both towns, the pilot filled a local gap and was well received – leading Belgravia Leisure to commit to continuing the program in future pool seasons.
