Activation projects led by Healthy Loddon Campaspe in the City of Greater Bendigo to create healthy spaces, places and practices that support an increase in physical activity and healthy eating. Place-based activation projects are designed based on community-level data and local stakeholder and community engagement.

Heathcote Community House Program spanned 5 weeks.
A region wide project providing a five-week online cooking program aiming to increase participants’ cooking confidence, knowledge, attitudes and beliefs towards cooking and healthy eating.

This project activated the oval for the community to use in the evening through operating the lights for two hours per night during non-daylight savings times. Lights turned on at netball courts with free fitness sessions at Barrack Reserve.

This project installed a bike pump and repair station at the Long Gully BMX track. Sports Focus, LGNC and the Department of Transport and Planning are facilitating lessons for the community in how to use the new station and pump. A free community event is also being held at the Long Gully BMX track. Bike hoops have been installed at the LGNC to further support increased active travel in the community.

A partnership between Heathcote Community House and Heathcote Health has supported the development of a free beginners only walking group in Heathcote.

Heathcote Community House is leading the delivery of a local cooking initiative to support residents currently accessing food relief and most at need, to learn to cook healthy and affordable food.

Weekly classes to be provided at Long Gully Neighbourhood Centre for the community.

Connects young people with local chefs to learn about cooking, healthy eating, retail, food and work skills through preparing a meal and serving it through a café space.
This project aims to increase physical activity levels and opportunities for local Indigenous women who have young children.

Geocaching in Heathcote and Long Gully, offered a fun, low-cost way to boost physical activity and outdoor exploration. Workshops and a school holiday competition led to many finds on the geocaching app, and importantly, strong family engagement, especially among primary-aged children. The activity built confidence and skills, and is now well-positioned for long-term sustainability with support from Geocaching Victoria and Long Gully Neighbourhood Centre.
A variety of projects were led in Heathcote to support healthy eating and physical activity, including: - Heathcote Multicultural Fiesta - Zumba for Women - Food Growing in Heathcote - Geocaching (also delivered in Long Gully)
The Multicultural Healthy Eating project helped people from different cultural backgrounds learn about healthy eating through hands-on cooking classes and easy-to-understand food safety videos.
The Multicultural Adult Bike Education program empowered multicultural parents and carers to build confidence in cycling for health, transport, and independence.
