Cathedral of Ferns

𝗞𝗘𝗬 𝗣𝗢𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗦 • Distance: 500m • Time: 30 mins return PLUS browsing time • Best time of the day: Any time • Kid-safe: Yes with supervision • Dogs on-leash: No • Steps: Not too many • Accessible: No • Heights: The last part of the scramble is a big hairy, • Must do rating out of 10: 8.5 The best time of day would be mid-morning as mid-afternoon as the light enters at an angle through the ferns. MtWilson.com.au say: "Starting at the Picnic Ground, walk into the Cathedral of Ferns and watch out for the Giant Tree. This is a massive Messmate or Fastigata, which was sadly hit by lightning recently and has died. Wander up beyond it and the path will come out on a track. PICNIC: There is a large area nearby for a picnic. NB: There are no shops or water, so bring in your food and water.
