Maiyingu Marragu Aboriginal Place is known rock art site and cultural education area. This location has great value to Wiradjuri People, who hold a deep connection with the land and a strong sense of custodianship to protect and preserve sites, plants and animals who call it home. The site complex includes culturally significant rock shelters and stencil-art which provide a physical and spiritual link to ancestors and provides a place where traditional culture can be sustained. The area is used by the indigenous community as a ‘bush school room’ where young people can hear stories from Elders and learn to collect and use bush food and natural medicine. The walking track from the carpark to the rock overhang is short, about 500 m return on an easy but uneven dirt path with a few steps; allow around 15–30 minutes walking time plus extra to explore the artwork. It adjoins the Gardens of Stone State Conservation Area. It's located 20km from Lithgow.
