Hassans Walls at Lithgow is one of the most impressive lookouts in the Greater Blue Mountains and a superb tourist attraction. Rising to about 1,100–1,136 metres, it is regarded as the highest scenic lookout in the Blue Mountains, with sweeping views over the Hartley Valley, Kanimbla Valley, and towards Bathurst and Mount Wilson on a clear day. Visitors can drive to the reserve just a few minutes from Lithgow’s town centre, with the final stretch on a graded dirt road that is suitable for most standard vehicles in normal conditions. From the main car park, the Sir Joseph Cook boardwalk and other short paths provide easy access to dramatic cliff‑edge vistas, rocky outcrops and picnic spots, making it an accessible “wow factor” stop for families, photographers and road‑trippers alike. Its combination of altitude, expansive views and relative ease of access makes Hassans Walls a must‑see in the region.
