Place Plumereau is the lively historic square at the heart of the old town of Tours. It is lined with restored half timbered houses that date from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance and it feels warm and intimate thanks to its narrow streets and irregular façades. Cafés and restaurants spread their terraces across the square which creates a constant buzz of conversation and movement. During the day sunlight catches the timber beams and stone details which gives the buildings a soft golden tone. In the evening the square becomes a popular meeting point for locals and visitors who enjoy its relaxed atmosphere and its mix of history and daily life.
