Menton Old Town rises above the sea in a warm mix of pastel houses, narrow lanes and stepped paths that lead toward the basilica at the top. Visitors can explore the winding streets where small boutiques, cafés and quiet squares appear between arches and old stone walls. From the higher terraces the view stretches across the bay which makes it a good spot for relaxed photo walks or short climbs. The Old Town is also close to the waterfront so it is easy to combine a stroll through the historic alleys with a swim or a paddle along the calm coastline. In the evening the light softens over the façades and gives the whole hillside a gentle golden glow.
