Rovaniemi is the capital of Finnish Lapland and lies at the point where the Kemijoki and Ounasjoki rivers meet. It is known as the home of Santa Claus and attracts visitors with its Arctic nature modern architecture and winter activities. The city offers museums restaurants and easy access to surrounding forests and fells. Rovaniemi is also a popular place to watch the Aurora Borealis thanks to its northern location and clear dark skies in winter.
