Diözesanmuseum Eisenstadt

The Diocesan Museum Eisenstadt is the art and history museum of the Diocese of Eisenstadt, showcasing centuries of religious heritage from Burgenland. It presents a rich collection of ecclesiastical artworks — including sculptures, liturgical objects, textiles, devotional graphics, and historical documents — all arranged to highlight both their artistic value and their spiritual meaning. The museum is currently moving into the Bergkirche (Haydn Church), turning this historic church into an expanded cultural and spiritual center where the diocesan treasury will also be displayed. A current highlight is the exhibition “100 Years of the Patron Saint Martin,” which explores the regional importance of St. Martin through artworks and archival material. With around a dozen exhibition rooms and a mission to connect visitors with the region’s religious and cultural identity, the museum offers an atmospheric and meaningful introduction to Burgenland’s Christian heritage.
