The Abbe Museum, located in Bar Harbor, Maine, is a treasure trove of Native American history and culture. The lobster rolls at Bennetts Sandwhich Shop are a local favorite, known for their generous portions of fresh lobster meat. The visibility can be limited, adding to the sense of adventure. Once you reach the summit, you're greeted by a breathtaking view, often obscured by fog, and a strong, gusty wind that can be quite intense. Mt. Washington is often used to test the durability and performance of various equipment and technologies in extreme weather conditions. Due to its high elevation, strong winds, and frequent storms, it provides a challenging environment for testing products such as wind turbines, automotive components, and electronic devices. Fort Knox in Prospect Maine is not to be confused with Fort Knox in Kentucky that houses the United States Bullion Depository, which is a high-security facility that stores a significant portion of the nation's gold reserves.

The Bar Island trail in Bar Harbor, ME is a short, easy hike that offers stunning views of Frenchman Bay and the surrounding islands. The trail is accessible at low tide and leads to a small island connected to the mainland by a sandbar. We enjoyed trekking around the entire island. Visitors can enjoy picnicking, bird-watching, and exploring the rocky shores along the trail.

Sailing on the Schooner Margaret Todd in Bar Harbor during rain can be a unique and atmospheric experience. Despite the drizzle, the beauty of the coastline remains captivating. You may encounter various marine life, such as seals, porpoises, and seabirds. Luckily from reading whale boat tour instructions, I knew to bring a rain coat and to take sea sickness medicine. Others were not prepared but still enjoyed the boat ride around the bay.

Graffiti Donuts & Coffee is a popular spot in Bar Harbor, ME for donuts and coffee. It's small inside but there are two benches just outside. Donuts were yummy, fresh and doughy with the perfect amount of toppings.

McKay's Public House is a popular gastropub in Bar Harbor, ME known for its high-end surf 'n' turf and pub fare with global accents. Brasserie LeBrun is a sophisticated French restaurant in Bar Harbor, ME, offering a refined dining experience with a modern twist on classic French cuisine. The restaurant is located in a historic building. It feels like it was built to store a whale being so long with high ceilings. The menu features a wide variety of dishes, from appetizers like escargots and French onion soup to entrees like seared scallops, duck confit, and steak frites.

Jackson Falls is a picturesque waterfall located in the heart of Jackson, New Hampshire, just a short distance from The Wentworth Inn. The falls cascade down a series of rocky ledges, creating a stunning natural spectacle.

The Puddle Dock is a historic Colonial-style restaurant located in Portsmouth, NH. It is situated on a corner lot at the intersection of Market Street and Court Street, near the Portsmouth Harbor. The building is easily recognizable by its distinctive architecture and its prime location in the heart of Portsmouth's historic district.

The Little Harbor Loop Trail is a pleasant and easy hike with beautiful views of the harbor. The trail is well-maintained, and you'll see a variety of landscapes along the way, including rocky shores, sandy beaches, and forests. My favorite part was seeing a whole ecosystems in puddles at low tide with snails, crabs, and minnows.
