Rubjerg Knude Fyr is a lighthouse on the northwest coast of Jutland set among high sand dunes and wide views of the North Sea. The shifting sands once buried parts of the building and the coastline moved so quickly that the lighthouse had to be moved inland to save it from the sea. Today it stands on an open sandy plateau where the wind shapes the dunes each day. The walk to the lighthouse feels dramatic with steep cliffs bright light and a landscape that changes over time. The site is a striking blend of nature history and raw coastal beauty.
