The Maritime Museum of Denmark in Helsingør is built around an old dry dock and is known for modern architecture set partly below ground. Inside you find exhibits about trade seafaring life and Denmark’s long maritime history with ships models and personal stories from sailors. The sloping walkways lead you through bright galleries and open spaces that follow the shape of the dock. Outside many visitors enjoy walking the surrounding paths joining guided tours or combining the visit with Kronborg Castle which lies just a short walk away.
