The Green Market, known locally as Pazar, is one of Split’s liveliest and most colorful places located just outside the eastern walls of Diocletian’s Palace. The market is filled with rows of stalls offering fresh fruits, vegetables, herbs and seasonal products that come from local farms in the surrounding region. Vendors call out friendly greetings and the scent of ripe produce mixes with the aroma of fresh flowers and homemade goods. The atmosphere is energetic and welcoming and it reflects the daily rhythm of the city as residents shop for ingredients while visitors stroll through to experience authentic local life. In addition to produce the market also features stands with cheeses, olives, dried fruits, clothing and small handmade items. The Green Market is a vibrant space where tradition, community and Mediterranean flavors come together in a lively open air setting.
