Past menus have included pear dressed in Meyer lemon and gochujang or a masa pocket stuffed with blood sausage; mains like smoky goat birria tatemada, wood-fired veal sweetbreads, and whole grilled mackerel al pastor that arrives grinning on the plate. Don’t forget the tortillas – hand-pressed, nixtamalized and made to order. Wife Of The Year Jess Lima, a Guatemalan and serious about tortillas, says these are the real deal. The bar is wrapped in cognac leather and serves mezcal Negronis and Cel-Raicilla, a tequila cocktail with guanabana and celery juice.
