The New York & Atlantic Railway (NYA) is a vital freight rail link for one of the world’s largest metropolitan markets. Operating over 270 miles of track across Long Island, Brooklyn, and Queens, we connect businesses directly to the entire North American rail network through partnerships with Canadian Pacific, CSX, Norfolk Southern, and other regional railroads. For nearly 30 years, NYA has helped local businesses thrive by providing frequent, reliable service with excellent highway access, including direct connections to Interstate 495. Our operations move the goods that keep the region’s economy strong, while also removing more than 120,000 trucks from the road each year, easing congestion and reducing emissions. We’re proud of our track record: • Tripled freight volumes since partnering with LIRR three decades ago • Award-winning safety and training programs that put people first • Supporting 80+ local businesses with efficient, sustainable shipping solutions • Strong partnerships with labor and workforce organizations, including excellent contract negotiations with the BLET • Ongoing commitment to community initiatives that improve the lives of local families • Consistent and careful coordination, integrating our service with the busiest commuter train network in the country With New York City’s demand for goods expected to grow by 40% over the next three decades, NYA is committed to helping businesses expand efficiently and sustainably while keeping our communities moving forward.
