The Hundertwasserhaus is one of the most unusual and colorful buildings in Vienna and it was designed by the Austrian artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser. The building is known for its irregular shapes bright colors uneven floors and a façade covered with plants and trees that grow from balconies and roof areas. It was completed in the 1980s as a residential building and it reflects Hundertwassers belief in harmony between architecture nature and individual creativity. The structure has no straight lines and each apartment has its own unique design elements. While the building itself cannot be visited from the inside the exterior attracts many visitors who come to see one of Viennas most iconic examples of artistic architecture.
