The Narrenturm is one of the most unusual museums in Vienna and it is located in a circular eighteenth century building that was originally used as a psychiatric institution. Today it houses the Pathological Anatomical Museum which presents a large collection of medical specimens wax models preserved organs and historic instruments. The exhibitions show the development of medical research human anatomy disease studies and early scientific methods.
