Schönbrunn is one of the most famous cultural landmarks in Vienna and it was the summer residence of the Habsburg family. The palace features grand Baroque architecture richly decorated state rooms and a long history connected to imperial life. The large gardens surrounding the palace include tree lined avenues fountains statues flowerbeds a maze and the hilltop Gloriette which offers a beautiful view over the city. The Schönbrunn grounds also contain the Palm House and the oldest zoo in the world. The entire complex is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and it is one of the most visited attractions in Austria.
