The City of Milwaukee’s Direct Assistance to Dads (DAD) Project is a free, voluntary program designed to support fathers and father figures of children under age three. Participants receive home visits from fatherhood specialists who guide them in setting personal and parenting goals, discussing their child’s development, and accessing resources such as employment, education, healthcare, and legal aid. The program also hosts monthly group sessions and family events to build peer support, strengthen father–child bonds, and foster mental well-being .
